Specialty: Anxiety, Depression, Bipolar & Other Mood Disorders

Slow down and breathe. Do we want to feel back in control? Do we want a better understanding, allowing our lives to slow down? The process to begin starts right here in the therapeutic arena. Initially, the idea of therapy—talking to a stranger and opening up—can be hard. If you have made it here to our page, that is the first step. Welcome. Each and every individual’s experience in life is not the same; therefore, our therapeutic modalities and approaches are going to be tailored to what works best for each and every client.

I strive to assist clients and their families in processing emotions and learning coping skills to deal with everyday stressors and decrease symptoms. With the necessary tools and skills at our disposal, it is easier to identify triggers, notice warning signs, and find ways to better prepare for oncoming stressors and challenges. As we venture down a journey to expand one’s knowledge and skill set, we also build trust, authenticity, and other positive outcomes.

As a solution-focused, African-American, person-centered therapist, my passion involves working on destigmatizing mental health within African-American culture while also providing spiritual and scientific modalities to the community. Initially, I aim to bring awareness and educate individuals on mental health both within and outside of the sessions.

I specialize in working with individuals with anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, and other mood disorders. Working to combat the negative stigma within African-American culture has been one of the main objectives of my therapeutic work. I use a variety of evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Emotional CPR, and others.
